POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Junior Legal Associate to support our Legal Director in managing the legal needs of a dynamic, fast-paced construction and development company. The ideal candidate is a results-driven legal professional with at least 2 years of experience in real estate development, construction law, or corporate transactional work. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to complex, high-value development deals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal assistance in contract review, drafting, and negotiation—primarily in real estate development, construction, and vendor agreements.
  • Conduct legal research, due diligence, and regulatory reviews related to project development and corporate governance.
  • Support the Legal Director in preparing materials for meetings, litigation, and regulatory filings.
  • Track project milestones and ensure legal documentation aligns with internal compliance and external legal requirements.
  • Liaise with outside counsel, consultants, and government entities as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of legal documents and ensure timely updates to internal databases.
  • Assist in reviewing risk exposure and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare correspondence, summaries, and reports for internal stakeholders.

Legal Aspects of General Contracting

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating general contractor agreements, subcontractor agreements, and consultant contracts.
  • Advise on compliance with state and federal construction laws, including licensing, bonding, and insurance requirements.
  • Support bid and procurement processes to ensure alignment with legal and ethical standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other workplace safety laws.
  • Monitor lien rights, payment schedules, and change order procedures to protect the company’s interests.
  • Assist in managing claims and dispute resolution related to delays, defects, and contract performance.
  • Stay current on evolving legal and regulatory requirements affecting construction operations and development agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to contract execution, amendments, and project correspondence to support audits and legal inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Central Florida or eligible to waive in.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a legal role focused on real estate development, construction law, or commercial transactions.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, permitting processes, and real estate development cycles.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated results-oriented mindset with a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $105,000
