What we need:

The Industrial Engineer is an established performer that works to facilitate and support capital improvement and maintenance projects within the Engineering function by utilizing strong knowledge of industry practices and standards. This role participates in cross-functional project teams to meet business challenges in the areas of operating budgets, project measurements and control for capability, efficiency, quality, timelines, and safety.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, assess, and implement techniques and equipment of simple to moderate complexity used in production process to maximize the efficiency of the operations.
  • Plan and design systems as assigned that increase productivity by improving the integration of people, materials, systems, equipment, and finance.
  • Research and may recommend more efficient and safer manufacturing processes using new, existing, or modified machinery, equipment, or systems under the guidance of a more senior engineering staff member.
  • Research, recommend, or may implement changes to work methods, materials, machinery, manpower allocation, and safety measures for project of simple to moderate complexity.
  • Develop work standards, schedules, procedures, and performance standards for work applications to improve efficiency and cost reductions using standard company approved standards. Review standards with more senior engineering staff member before implementation.
  • Analyze and recommend changes to work operations to reduce noise, pollution, toxic chemicals, etc., under the direction of a more senior engineering staff member.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and other reporting systems output as assigned.
  • Assist in cross-functional projects or meetings as required under the direction of more senior engineering staff member.
  • Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
  • Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
  • Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Six-Sigma and/or Lean certifications are desirable.

What you’re good at:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

What else?

  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
